90s Bombshell Layers

I created this medium length, long layered supermodel-inspired cut using a Feather Styling Razor and Feather Styling Razor R-Type Blades. I prefer an R-Type Blade because it has the least amount of guard so cuts more like an unguarded Feather Plier Razor. I created this medium length, long layered supermodel-inspired cut using a Feather Styling Razor and Feather Styling Razor R-Type Blades. I prefer an R-Type Blade because it has the least amount of guard so cuts more like an unguarded Feather Plier Razor. After sectioning the hair, I worked side to side in 1' beachball sections, pulling each section forward and gradually over directing each new section while referencing my original one. For a modern twist on this classic shape, I used an open stroke for a more diffused weight line and perimeter to connect the front to the back. For the front of the cut, I visualized an A-frame from the bridge of the nose down to the chin as my guide. I took a section from her natural side part and over directed slightly while also twisting the hair to prevent a shelf. To connect all the sections I pulled a corner from each section that lives on the round of the head and pulled each 1' section straight up from the head-vertically at about a 145-degree angle and used back cutting to cut while elevating the hair. When back cutting always elevate your elbow to ensure a soft cut into the hair. For additional airiness to the overall silhouette, I added crown layers and kept an even weight distribution in the ends which is crucial for this look. Using a large round brush to dry, I set using Velcro rollers along the mohawk and finished with texturizing spray to create sexy volume. Check out my Education CONNECT video to see the complete cut from start to finish.
