FAQ

Metal nail files are more durable and will last longer. They are better suited for artificial nails and thicker nails than disposable emery boards. Emery boards are used in nail salons because they are more hygienic. But if it's just for yourself, a metal one is just fine.

It is not bad to push your cuticles down. However, pushing them down too far into the nail bed is not healthy. Pushing them down just far enough to where you feel some resistance is where you should stop. Trimming cuticles can actually make your nail bed healthier because it minimizes any risk of hangnails and prevents ripping of the cuticles because they are too long.

Dirt and debris can get caught under the nails which makes it a breeding ground for bacteria and fungus. Maintaining nail hygiene which includes cleaning under the nail keeps nails healthy and beautiful. Using the arrow shaped end of the file, gently scrape underneath the nail and into the corners.
