No, not at all. It's perfect for home use for teasing, detangling and using the tail end for creating hair parts. It's a versatile comb that can be used in many ways for both home and professional use.

It works best on thick, coarse or dense hair. If the hair is fine but dense, it will work. But results will not be as good on fine, thin hair. For best results, use on freshly washed and dried hair. For fine, thin hair using a bit of hairspray or product that has hold to it will help.

No, the pins are hard and solid. They do not bend to pressure.
