Grungy Fairy Razor Mullet

This cut is all about airy texture, fluid movement, and playful structure. I used the Feather Styling Razor in matcha green (a personal favorite!) to bring this grungy fairy mullet to life. The razor’s ability to glide effortlessly through the hair allowed me to sculpt soft, piecey sections with speed and precision.

To begin, I created a horseshoe parting and over-directed the top sections toward the fringe, using the bangs as my cutting guide. I cut into the round of the head to maintain softness and shape. For added texture and visual interest, I carved out internal channels throughout the cut. This reduced bulk and helped build volume and movement throughout the crown and back.

The side tendrils were slide-cut with the razor to create delicate face-framing bits, seamlessly connecting them into the top layers. Carving into each section gave the cut its signature undone, fairy-like texture.

For styling, I blow-dried the bangs using a round brush to give lift and structure and then used my hands to buckle and bend sections throughout the back for a lived-in, flipped finish. To amplify texture and hold, I applied a sea salt spray followed by a clear, gel-like pomade to define the ends and enhance separation. The final look is lightweight, wearable, and just the right amount of wild.
