Soft Curly Mid-Length Shag

My client knew she wanted to enhance her natural texture, but wasn’t sure exactly what style to go for. After consulting about her styling routine and looking to see what shapes most complimented her features, I went in with my Feather Plier Razor to set our length, leaving room for her hair to get curlier and carving out weight where needed to enhance movement.

Once the length was established, I set a guide for her bangs and layered them. I continued with diagonal back sections brought forward, maintaining strength at the perimeter while also releasing weight for max volume and curl through out the shape. We wanted lift in her crown as well; I used a small disconnected section down the back to set a guide and layer the back. To style, I used a styling balm and a light hold mousse to hold and define her curls before diffusing.
