Texturized Mullet-Mohawk Hybrid

This cut lives between a mohawk and a mullet—structured but free-flowing, bold yet wearable. I began by sectioning the hair at the temples and shaving the sides with a #2 guard to establish the foundation and strong contrast. The top was cut by over-directing all sections toward the center, leaving the center longest to allow for maximum volume and styling versatility. I followed by cutting the crown to match the top's shape, then blended the back from the crown down, working short to long for a seamless transition. Throughout the entire cut, I used the Feather Plier Razor —my go-to tool for most of my work. Its super sharp, straight-edge blade gives me full control to carve, remove weight, and create texture exactly where I want it. The razor helps avoid harsh lines, allowing for a softer, more organic finish. I especially love the way it supports artistic detailing and customization of shape. The final look offers styling flexibility: wear it spiked up for maximum edge and volume, or let it fall naturally to highlight a softer fringe. This technique is perfect for clients who want a unique, expressive cut that balances strong structure with movement and ease.
