Air-Dried Razor Curls

My client came in giving me complete freedom in creating a style that most flattered her but was also low maintenance and could be air dried exclusively. I immediately wanted to open up her face to reveal her striking bone structure and classic beauty. I wanted to give her a total “lift".

Her curl potential was clearly visible and she has medium density with the coarseness of grey. I chose a longer bang that could be swept to the side and carved out loads of bulk and weight in the perimeter of the cut.

I used medium strokes with my Feather Plier Razor to draft the cut and my Feather Styling Razor to carve out small inversions throughout the cut. This allowed room for each curl to live happily layer by layer. This helps create strength in the shape and fights unwanted expansion, especially with our Tennessee humidity.

I styled her with only two products: a cream for soft structured curls and 2 drops of a hair oil for curl clarity. I taught her to restyle the next day by gently brushing and adding a small amount of water and pulsing the squeezes to rejuvenate her pretty curls and reactivate the original products from wash day.
