Big Chop Bixie

Doing this big of a chop and getting to really carve out this bixie from scratch was so much fun and so rewarding. After a rough chop with shears to remove the bulk of the length, I started in the nape area and, with my Feather Plier Razor, removed weight and length in pie sections below the occipital.

From there, I took diagonal-forward sections and worked up toward the crown using the Plier to remove weight and carve out petals at my desired length in each subsection. In the front, I set the length and shape of the fringe, then used it as my guide for layering in front of the radial. I used my Feather Styling Razor to refine the back hairline and carve out the petal details in front of the ears.

To finish, I grabbed my Plier and removed weight anywhere I felt it was visually needed throughout the cut. I approached this cut in a really sculptural, visual way. The ability to cut and sculpt hair intuitively is what I love most about razor cutting, especially when crafting short, textured looks like this one.
