"I’ve been a professional hair designer for almost fifty years. Over time, I’ve spent thousands of dollars finding, buying, & getting used to working with new hair cutting shears. When I found the “perfect” pair of shears, always I would wonder: “How long before I drop them or they become dull & I go through the time consuming, expensive process of purchasing a new pair of shears”. For years I endured the painful process of getting used to cutting with the new scissors- & invariably I’d nip my knuckles, fingers, & yes, a time or two, my client’s skin(😱)!!! Never once did I have shears sharpened & returned to me that were like or as good as they were before the process.

About 4-5 years ago on this site, I found & purchased shears with disposable blades!!! WOW!!! Miraculous!!! Now I have no compunction about discarding even slightly dulled blades. For about the same money(or less) I used to spend for the never satisfactory shear sharpening, I get a package of fresh, new blades from my drawer, replace the dull, used blades with a new pair of sparkling, fresh, never-before-used blades. Very quickly, with no worry nor money loss, or finding/buying a new pair of cutting shears- I’m back in business! It is total greatness not to have to ever again worry about the issue of dulled blades! Never, ever again! At some point I’ll replace the original pair of shears these disposable blades fit onto. But I still use the same shears I originally purchased several years ago. I never need to wait until my haircut designs are compromised by dulling blades-or because I fear having my shears sharpened. It is simple now! I snap on a new, fresh, SHARP pair of blades! This is a magnificent resolution to a problem I wrestled with & dreaded…for decades! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!! THANK YOU!!!"

Unfortunately, no. All Switch Blade Shears are right-handed.

No. A 5.5" shear can only use 50/55 blades. The same goes for the other handles. The 4.5" shear can only use 45 blades. The 5.0" and 5.5" shear can only use 50/55 blades. The 6.0" and 6.5" blades can only use 60/65 blades. And the 7.0" and 7.5" shears can only use 70/75 blades.

The inch measurement is the length of the entire shear including the tang if it has one.
