The Difference Between Feather Artist Club Blades

Product

The Difference Between Feather Artist Club Blades

You've finally taken the step to get yourself a Feather Artist Club Razor handle. Congratulations! But just when you thought your decision making was over you realize you have to choose a blade.  Yes, there are five different ones. But don't worry, we're going to break it down into an easy-to-understand way so you can make the best decision. By the end of this article, you will be able to more easily decide which blade or blades are right for you! There are five different Feather Artist Club Blades: Professional, Super, ProGuard, Light and SoftGuard. Each blade type has a slightly different profile which cater to different hair densities, hair thicknesses and safety levels. But before we get started, one note of caution. Please do not use double edge blades or any other type of blade in the handles. First off, the Artist Club Blades were made specifically for the Artist Club handles so they work perfectly in sync with each other. You have a beautiful, high-quality tool, so why cheapen it with a lower quality blade? Plus, it just looks bad when you see an improperly fitted blade in the handle. Secondly, Artist Club Blades span the full length of the razor head. When you use shorter blades in the handle, you increase the risk of cutting yourself or the client. Due to the corners being sharp, if you're not careful, this can scrape or nick the skin. And let's not forget the difference in blade exposure. The more exposed the blade is, the more difficult and awkward it will be to shave with it. Thirdly, Artist Club Blades will last a long time. Each blade can go through a full-face shave without changing the blade. Other blades tend to wear out quickly and having to do a blade change in the middle of a service is not ideal. Furthermore, neither Feather nor JATAI is responsible for any misuse of the product and using it in a manner that it was not meant to be used.   The Different Artist Club Blades Now that we've got that out of the way, let's go through each Artist Club Blade...   Professional Blades If you're looking for the most versatile blade that's generally good for all types of shaving, the Professional Blades are it. They can be used for full face shaving, necklines, outlining, lineups and more. This blade is best for someone who is experienced in shaving and does general basic shaves for themselves or their clients. It has a blade exposure of 8mm. For 20 blades in each cartridge, it's $14. That's $0.70/blade. These are the cheapest of all the blades.     ProGuard Blades ProGuard Blades are the same as the Professional Blades except they have a built-in guard for safety. This guard is tiny and visible if you look very closely at each blade. It doesn't interfere in the shave, but it will be less aggressive on the skin and help prevent nicks and cuts. This type of blade is great for someone who wants extra safety for themselves or their clients or barber students who are learning how to straight razor shave. This blade is a bit more expensive because of the added safety feature. For 15 blades at $16, this comes out to $1.07/blade.   Super Blades For those barbers and home users who deal with thick heavy facial hair, the Super Blade is the best choice. With the greatest blade exposure (8.2mm) this blade packs in some extra special shaving sauce that the other blades can't handle. You can use this blade on thick full heavy beards and mustaches without needing to trim them down first. It's amazing! Shaving with a Super Blade is...well...super. One Super Blade cartridge contains 20 blades and costs $16. This comes out to at $0.80/blade.       Light Blades On the opposite spectrum is the Light Blades. These blades have less blade exposure than the Professional Blades (7.4mm). Because of this, these blades are nice for shaving sensitive skin and reducing irritation. It's also good for women's shaving who often have light, thin hair such as peach fuzz. One cartridge comes with 20 blades and costs $16. This comes out to $0.80/blade.   SoftGuard Blades Like the Light Blades, SoftGuard Blades have low blade exposure. But they have an extra layer of safety with a built-in guard. These blades are good for using on sensitive skin, reducing irritation and women's shaving like the Light Blades. But with the built-in guard it's good for someone who wants the extra safety. It's $16 for 15 blades which is $1.07/blade. Now that you understand the differences, let's take a look at what's the same.   About Feather Artist Club Blades All Feather Artist Club Blades are made by Feather in Japan and fit all Feather Artist Club Razor handles. They all come in a cartridge that features a no-touch system for safety and sanitation that allows you to insert blades without touching them. On all the cartridges is a hole at the bottom which is for inserting used blades and for safe disposal. All blades are made of stainless steel and are put through a triple grinding process that allows for superior sharpness, quality and consistency. All blades also have a subscription option. If you're someone who shaves regularly, it may be of benefit to sign up for the subscription program to save up to 35% on blades. You can set the frequency and quantity to meet your preferences. See subscription options on each blade product page. A last note, you might want a couple different blades for different situations. The choice is yours! Once you've decided on the blade you want, the only thing left is your shaving technique, skin quality and wet good product choice (face wash, shaving cream, moisturizer). If you're still unsure, you can visit this page for more detailed information on the Artist Club handles and blades in a more visual format.   Product, Artist Club Razors
The NEW Seki Edge Premium Fingernail Clipper has already Won

The NEW Seki Edge Premium Fingernail Clipper has already Won

If you've seen the new Seki Edge Premium Fingernail Clipper (SS-113) you might feel like you just had Déjà vu. By the looks of it, it appears to be just like the Seki Edge Stainless Steel Nail Clipper (SS-112). And you would be right. The only difference is that it's smaller. Since the SS-112 has been wildly successful with its heavy build and strong cutting jaws, it only made sense to create a partner in crime....a Robin to Batman if you will. The Seki Edge Stainless Steel Nail Clipper rose to fame when Wirecutter (a product review website by The New York Times Company) wrote an article about the best nail clippers. It was #1. It's important to note that the article referenced the Green Bell G-1008 as number one, but this nail clipper has the same design and is made by the same manufacturer as the SS-112. And let's not forget to mention that #2 was the Seki Edge Fingernail Clipper (SS-106). So to occupy the first two spots for the top nail clippers by a reputable and widely recognized company is a huge feat and says a lot about the quality and reputation of these nail clippers. But we digress... If you compare the SS-112 and SS-113 side by side the Premium Fingernail Clipper is a nice size. Perfect for trimming smaller nails like fingernails or women's nails, this nail clipper is just the right size for those looking for a smaller option. The Seki Edge Stainless Steel Clipper (SS-112) is quite large and works great for toenails, large nails or men's nails. With its wider jaw, it can cut through thicker and harder nails. But otherwise, the rest of the features are just the same! The Premium Fingernail Clipper has the built-in nail file on top, excellent weight and balance and features a proprietary grinding and honing method to make the cutting edge give a soft cut. It's made of stainless steel, has an ergonomic handle and hand-crafted edges. Both the SS-112 and SS-113 are made in Japan. The smaller size is also great for traveling or putting it in a purse or small pouch. It's a great companion for anyone who needs to maintain their nails on the go. But it's also nice to have both the SS-112 and SS-113 for different size and type of nails. Create your own set of Seki Edge tools with the Seki Edge Grooming Kit Case and store all of your favorite Seki Edge tools. With the success of the SS-112 model, we're sure the SS-113 Premium Fingernail Clipper model will do just as well. It's beautifully designed and made with high quality stainless steel. Check it out and let us know what you think!   Product, Nail Clippers
Shield Yourself from Painful Cuts and Burns

Shield Yourself from Painful Cuts and Burns

Have you ever used a curling iron or hair wand and then accidentally burned your fingers while using it? Or have you ever cut yourself using a sharp scissor when haircutting? If you're a hairstylist or barber that answer is a definite 'yes.' And if you're a home user that answer is likely a 'yes.' Just a slip of the hand or a slip of the tool can lead to annoying pain and discomfort for your hands. Then, for a few days you'll have to use a bandage to keep it clean and safe. What a pain (no pun intended)! If only you could prevent that from happening. Well, luckily for you, Jatai Shield products can do the trick. Jatai Heat Shields and Jatai Snip Shields are two essential products for hair professionals and home users alike. They are designed to protect the skin while haircutting and hair styling while maintaining the maneuverability of the fingers and hands. Jatai Heat Shields are specially designed to protect the skin from the heat generated by hair styling tools such as wands, curling irons and flat irons. They are made of high-quality material that's heat resistant and durable. The bottom layer is thicker and more resistant to heat than the top side. In fact, the bottom side can handle 450 degrees F. They are latex-free and machine washable. They stretch and stay snug all day and have closed tips to ensure the heat does not burn the fingertips! Jatai Heat Shields are available in two different sizes (S/M and M/L) to fit different size fingers and come in black only. Jatai Heat Shields come with 3 shields that fit on the opposite hand holding the tool. Meant for the thumb, index and middle finger, they can be used on different fingers as long as they stay snug. While gloves can hinder the dexterity and movement of the hands, finger shields allow for maximum finger flexibility to be able to perform as desired. Jatai Snip Shields, on the other hand, are designed to protect the skin while hair snipping. They are made of durable material that's easy to clean and maintain. The shields are designed to fit comfortably over the fingers, providing a barrier between the skin and cutting tool, protecting the skin from accidental cuts and nicks. Whether you're cutting other's hair or your own, they will aid in preventing painful cuts from scissors especially when point cutting. They are also heat resistant, latex-free and machine washable. They stretch and stay snug all day. Included are 2 finger Snip Shields made for the index and middle finger. Currently, the only size available is the M/L and it only comes in grey. The fingertips are open to maintain a sense of touch and feel. They even provide extra protection over bandages. Both Jatai Heat Shields and Jatai Snip Shields are designed with comfort and safety in mind. They are lightweight, easy to use, and provide a barrier between the skin and hair styling or cutting tools, ensuring the skin is protected from accidental cuts, burns, and heat damage. Jatai Heat Shields and Jatai Snip Shields are essential for stylists, barbers and home users, providing protection and comfort during haircutting and styling processes. New Hair Brushes for a New Year

New Hair Brushes for a New Year

When you think of JATAI, the first thought that comes to mind is 'razors and blades.' Yes, we are most notably known for our razors. But we do carry a number of other fantastic, high-quality items. Many of them made in Japan, our products are curated from quality companies that produce products with utmost care and attention. Aside from Feather, Seki Edge is one of our best lines which caters to the everyday person looking for quality personal care tools. Fuji Paper is also a great Japanese company specializing in strong, absorbent end papers for perms and permanent hair texture. Lastly, Ikemoto manufactures some of the best hair brushes in Japan. Their brushes are produced under Ikemoto or sub-brand Du-Boa. This year we brought in 5 new brushes with unique benefits. Let's go over these new brushes and why you'll want one (or more) to add to your brush collection. 5 New Hair Brushes   Du-Boa Aging Scalp Brush with Boar Hair This brush is beautifully designed and made in Japan. It has a combination of nylon and boar bristles which is nice for an aging scalp. The purpose of the boar bristles is to create more glossy, voluminous hair and to glide through the hair for less breakage during styling. The nylon bristles gently massage the scalp and distribute the natural oils back into the scalp. The anti-static elastic ring helps prevent static. The handle is durable and solid. If you want a brush that will be gentle to the scalp but adds shine and volume, this is a good choice.   Du-Boa Anti-Static Aging Scalp Brush The Du-Boa Anti-Static Aging Scalp Brush is also great for an aging scalp. As we get older the scalp ages 12x faster than our body skin so it needs a different kind of attention. The scalp looses elasticity and hair follicles become less active leading to hair thinning over time. With shrinking oil glands and drier hair, it's important to address the needs of the aging scalp. With soft nylon bristles it gently massages and stimulates the scalp. It features a combination of short and long bristles as well as soft and slightly firmer bristles for various effects. The soft brown outer bristles are gentle to the scalp and hair while the clear firmer bristles ensure smooth brushing of the hair. The short round tip bristles are good for styling and increasing volume whereas the long round tip bristles help clean pores and massages the scalp. The result is soft, smooth hair without tugging or pulling on hair. This brush is made in Japan.   Du-Boa Anti-Static Styling Brush This is no ordinary styling brush. It contains some unique properties for easy styling. The bristles contain olive squalene oil to protect the skin and maintain scalp moisture. It also contains silicone for smooth brushing. On the side of the brush is a stainless steel fiber strip (Nasron) that removes static while brushing. It is well balanced from end to end. The durable pink handle is easy to hold and maneuver. If you want to style, maintain scalp moisture and reduce static, this brush is a good choice. Made in Japan.   Ikemoto Hair and Scalp Seduction Brush Seduce your scalp and hair with this irresistible brush! The Ikemoto Hair and Scalp Seduction Brush is a fan favorite in Japan and it's easy to understand why. The bristles massage and stimulate the scalp for an invigorating experience. And they soften and smooth out fine, coarse, straight and even curly hair. It easily removes tangles with ease and without pain. Around the bristles is an anti-static elastic ring to help keep away pesky static. If you're looking for an all around great brush this one is it! Made in Japan, it can resist heat up to 176 degrees F. It comes in 2 colors, blue and red.   Ikemoto Tsubaki Oil Cushion Brush Unlock the Japanese secret to perfect hair. Tsubaki oil, also known as camellia oil, has been used by Japanese women for centuries. Geishas love this oil for its moisture retaining abilities for the skin and hair. Tsubaki oil is similar to the natural oils our skin produces. By retaining these oils in the skin, this helps protect against UV damage and promotes skin elasticity while moisturizing hand hydrating the scalp. It delivers phytonutrients to the scalp and leaves hair shiny and beautiful. The Ikemoto Tsubaki Oil Cushion Brush is perfect for before and after shampooing and a great size for travel. Made in Japan. These new brushes are not your typical brushes. Their unique features and properties make them ideal for various hair and scalp types. High quality with intentional designs, you'll love these brushes if you're looking for a solution to aging scalps, thinning hair, dry hair, improving volume and reducing static.  Product, Brushes and Combs

Choose from Styling Razor Blades, Plier Blades, Artist Club Blades, Nape Blades, double edge blades or cartridge blades. There are three different Styling Razor Blades (Standard, R-Type and Texturizing). Each type of blade works best in different situations and each pack contains 10 blades. The most versatile blade is the Standard Blades. It's great for all razor haircutting, especially for beginners. Look for the orange packaging. The R-Type Blades have 40% more blade exposure than the Standard Blades for rapid cuts. With less guard you can cut hair faster and cut off more hair in one swipe. This one is best used by razor haircutters who are more experienced with a razor and want to cut quicker with less drag. The Texturizing Blades have a different guard pattern made to cut 25% less hair than the Standard Blades. This blade is good to use on clients with fine hair or thin hair but you still want to give texture. The Plier Blades are the only blade that can be used in the Plier Razor. It is an extremely sharp bare blade that fits snug in the Plier Razor. For the most artistic and elite razor haircutter, the Plier Blades are no joke when it comes to sharpness. You must know what you are doing to use these so use with caution. If you can master the Plier, the results are mind blowingly beautiful. The Plier Blades come with 20 blades per pack. There are 5 Feather Artist Club Blades: Professional, ProGuard, Super, Light and SoftGuard. Each blade is designed for different situations and different types of hair and skin types. After all, we are not made equally. The most versatile blade is the Professional Blade. You can't go wrong with this blade. If you want more safety, opt for the ProGuard Blades which have a built-in guard. You are less likely to cut yourself or your client when using this blade. This is a popular blade for those new to straight razor shaving or who want that extra safety. The Super Blade is for super hair. This means thick, heavy, coarse facial hair. That's right, it's the blade that can easily tackle the thickest of facial hair in one swipe. With the greatest blade exposure, this blade has super powers that none of the other blades have. The Light Blades, on the other hand, are quite the opposite. They give the least blade exposure. When would you use this blade? It's good for sensitive skin or thin, fine hair. This could be good for shaving women or shaving fuzz. It is a gentle blade for gentle skin. And the fifth and newest Artist Club Blade is the SoftGuard Blades which are a hybrid of the Light Blades and the ProGuard Blades. With little blade exposure, it also features a built-in guard on the blades. This one would be for similar use as the Light Blades but with extra safety. The Nape Blades are used in the Feather Nape and Body Razor. The Nape Blades are small blades with a built-in guard. This blade is small so it can get into smaller areas that the larger razors have a more difficult time addressing. The Nape Blades only fit in the Nape and Body Razor. Some hairstylists have gotten creative with the razor and are even using it to cut hair! The Feather Double Edge Blades are tried and true blades. Sharp and made of stainless steel, these blades are the sharpest double edge blades around. Just go ask any shaving forum. There are various pack sizes so pick from a 5pk, 10pk, 20pk, 100pk sleeve or 200pk sleeve. Double edge blades are a great way to help do your part to be environmentally friendly as well as save money. But if you just can't get away from cartridge razors, the F3, F2 and MR3 cartridge blades are a great alternative. The F3 blade, in particular, has a triple blade with a built-in wavy guard on each blade to reduce razor burn and bumps. The independent suspension of each blade allows the blade to gently go over the skin without force and the SiC ceramic coating allows for smooth passes. If you're prone to sensitive skin, razor bumps or burns, this blade is definitely for you!   Seki Edge During Cyber Week you can also save with Seki Edge. When you buy 2 Seki Edge products you can get 1 free for equal or lesser value. This includes grooming kits! Perhaps get some of your favorite nail clippers or grooming kits to give as gifts or stock up on some needed tweezers or make-up scissors. The choice is yours. Take advantage of these amazing deals during Black Friday and Cyber Week. You won't see these deals anywhere else or anytime else soon so stop by JATAI.net. We can't wait to get this party started!   Product, Haircutting Razors, Double Edge Razors, Gift Guides, Artist Club Razors, Cartridge Razors, Grooming Kits
How to Curl Your Eyelashes: Start with the Best Eyelash Curler

How to Curl Your Eyelashes: Start with the Best Eyelash Curler

Isn't the first thing we notice is a person's eyes? Eyes tell a story. The appearance of your eyes can either engage or disengage. In many cultures it is desirable to have the appearance of large eyes with long lush eyelashes. A huge part of creating this look can be largely attributed to how your eyelashes make your eyes appear more open, wider and brighter. It's no wonder many women look to find ways to learn how to curl your eyelashes correctly to encourage this look. In order to have amazing eyelashes you will need to first find the best eyelash curler. Starting with the right tools can make all the difference. Second, you will need to know how to curl your eyelashes properly to get the most curl out of your lashes as possible. Thirdly, you need a good mascara that will emphasize your lashes. And fourth, having a lash pin comb to separate your lashes can be a nice added touch. So what is the best eyelash curler? The best eyelash curler is one that makes your eyes look wider, brighter and longer. It shouldn't make your eyelashes look fake. It shouldn't hurt you, pull your eyelash hairs, or crush them. If your eyelash curler does any of these things, keep in mind this may be related to your technique. There are several types of curlers. There is the metal eyelash curler, the plastic eyelash curler, the heated eyelash curler, and the spot eyelash curler. The best eyelash curlers have a wide opening, have the ability to replace the pads and curl your eyelashes so that they don't just stick straight up, but leave a natural looking curl. If you want to heat your eyelash curler with a blowdryer, it is best to use a metal eyelash curler or a heat resistant plastic one. Be careful to not heat it for too long as this may burn you. But heating your eyelash curl can lead to a better curl and longer lasting curl. The best eyelash curler should be easily cleanable and easy to handle. Next, you will need to learn how to curl your eyelashes correctly. If you don't know how to curl your eyelashes properly, you are not maximizing the potential your eyelashes have. Lashes that grow downward can benefit tremendously from an eyelash curler. Before curling your eyelashes, make sure your curler is clean and disinfected. Any dirt accumulated on the eyelash curler may get transferred to the eyes and lead to irritation. So here's how to curl your eyelashes: Use the best eyelash curler you've found and position it gently so that the eyelash fits in the window of the curler. Be sure that your whole eyelash is captured in the opening as stray eyelashes that fall outside the opening will not get curled. Be sure to not put the eyelash curler too close to the base of the lash as you might end up pinching your skin. Carefully, squeeze the curler for a few seconds molding the eyelash. Release the curler. You may need to repeat as necessary even with the best eyelash curler. Be sure the curler is completely open before removing the curler. You can even turn the eyelash curler upside down to curl the bottom lashes. It's a good idea to replace the eyelash curler pads every 2-3 months to keep bacteria low and keep your eyelash curler functioning at it's best. To clean the eyelash curler, use makeup remover or rubbing alcohol to remove the debris from the curler. Knowing how to curl your eyelashes is only half the battle. Note: DO NOT curl your eyelashes after you've applied mascara. This can lead to sticking of the eyelash to the curler and pull your eyelashes out. The other half of the battle is finding and applying a good mascara. When using mascara, look down while looking in the mirror and stroke the brush upwards with the tip of the brush. After you apply your first coat, let it dry. Then apply a second coat if necessary. If you have clumping you may want to invest in a lash pin comb such as this one by Seki Edge in order to separate your lashes. This also allows your lashes to look more natural and open up your eyes even more. Do not use a pin as this can be very dangerous. A lash pin comb is specifically designed to separate your lashes when your regular mascara brush can't. Learning how to curl your eyelashes in usually not something we think as difficult or complicated to learn. However, understanding some of the finer details can make your eyelashes look their best and help them to stand out even more so eyes can look larger and brighter. It's all an illusion. By having the best eyelash curler, using the proper techniques with a great mascara, and utilizing a lash pin comb these steps can make all the difference.   Product, Health and Wellness, Eyelash Curlers
Celebrating 30 Years of Endless Creativity with the Feather Styling Razor

Celebrating 30 Years of Endless Creativity with the Feather Styling Razor

In 1992, Dean Wada, founder and CEO of JATAI, the exclusive distributor of the Feather brand in the US and Canada, approached the Feather team in Japan with an idea for a new haircutting razor that used guarded, replaceable blades. That new tool, now known industry-wide as the Feather Styling Razor, opened a door to a whole new creative space for stylists, allowing them to razor cut without fear of cutting themselves or their clients.  This summer, JATAI is celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Feather Styling Razor with a new influencer driven social media campaign. Safety was the most important factor in the design of the razor. Featuring a non-folding razor handle for ease of use and to prevent accidental cuts from an exposed blade, the Feather Styling Razor can be held like a paintbrush, becoming an extension to the hand and making it easier for stylists to use the razor more creatively. Unlike folding haircutting razors, no special training is needed with the Feather Styling Razor which also includes a blade tray and disposal case that allows stylists to insert and dispose blades without having to touch them. When reflecting on the anniversary, Wada said: "Over the last 30 years, the success of our company and the Feather brand has been deeply rooted not only in our business strategy, but in the creativity of the hair professionals. It was our intention to design a safe haircutting tool for them that allowed them to freely create and showcase their artistry and skill. We are thrilled that all these years later, the Feather Styling Razor is still the number one haircutting razor on the market."   Since its debut in 1992, the Feather Styling Razor has forever changed the way hair professionals cut hair, allowing for unique and fun styles that can only be achieved by a razor. JATAI will be honoring that endless creativity with its summer campaign which will feature a host of stylist-led content including a collection of anniversary-themed videos in the JATAI Academy, JATAI's free online education platform. The new Education CONNECT video tutorials will showcase modern day takes on iconic hairstyles from the past three decades including 1990s grunge-inspired French bob inspired by Winona Ryder and Drew Barrymore's iconic '90s looks; a 2000s-inspired pixie made famous by Halle Berry; an ode to the sexy, long layered cut of the 2010s; and one of today's hottest styles, the shullet. Filmed with Los Angeles-based stylists Janine Jarman (@janinejarman), Mikey Teeze (@mikey_teeze), Rae Steele (@raeikole) and Charli Boell (@shrunknheads), respectively, each video will highlight the versatility of the Feather Styling Razor, showing a complete haircut done using only the razor. In addition to the education-focused content, JATAI will also collaborate with influential razor-cut specialists for a social media campaign across Instagram and TikTok. These stylists, who know and love the Feather Styling Razor, will be sharing tutorials, finished looks and their own personal tips and tricks using the razor. JATAI will also be hosting giveaways and special offers on the razor handle and Styling Razor Blades exclusively on JATAI.net. JATAI's Feather Styling Razor 30th anniversary campaign launches July 5, 2022 on JATAI.net and @jataifeather.   Product, Haircutting Razors

Add These to Your Dad's Grooming Toolbox

Dads love tools. That's right...hammers, saws, wrenches and screwdrivers. But they also like a lot of other tools. We don't know what it is about dads but they are always trying to fix things, using their hands to get down and dirty in their personal projects. After the mess they create, cleaning up can be a big task. The thing is, most men don't take advantage of grooming services like going to a salon or spa for manicure services. They are much more likely to go to a salon or barbershop to get their hair trimmed or get a pampering shave. Men tend to do a lot of grooming at home, which is ok as long as they know what they're doing. While dad might have all the tools he needs to build a backyard deck or repair a car, he might not have the grooming tools he needs to clean up nicely after a long day's work outside. Looking and feeling good is important for any man so for this Father's Day, why not give him the best grooming tools to help him look his best. Dads deserve quality grooming tools such as shaving razors and grooming kits to keep their facial hair in check and their nails in tip top shape. When it comes to shaving razors, the best you can get is a Feather. While big cartridge razors are easy to use with low chances of cutting yourself, the blades can be pricey and they are bad for the environment. Feather Safety Razors (aka double edge razors) use a single blade without any plastic. Because only a single blade is used to cut hair, it needs to be sharp and cut on the first pass. Feather double edge blades have a reputation of being the sharpest blades on the market. Safety razors have a bit of a learning curve and require more care when shaving, but those who use one say it's a much better shave than a cartridge shave. The shaves are closer and it generally takes less passes than a cartridge razor. If dad is a little adventurous and willing to try a safety razor, he might have a new hobby. Or maybe he's already into double edge razors and wants a razor upgrade. In any case, if you're going to give dad some extra love this Father's Day, spoil him with a Feather Double Edge Razor. Now through Father's Day, you can get 25% off any Feather Double Edge Razor handle. Alternatively, men might not think of their hands or feet much, but after a long hard day working the hands and tiring the feet, they could use a little TLC. Having dry, crusty cuticles or hangnails is just not acceptable when it comes to grooming. Keeping nails clean and trimmed is an important part of grooming and when the hands look good, it's noticed by others. A Seki Edge grooming kit can save the day. With high quality manicure and pedicure tools made in Japan, each tool serves a different grooming purpose. Known for nail clippers with sharp cutting edges and solid quality implements, a nail kit housed in a compact travel case can make nail grooming easy and convenient. There's also a variety of kits to choose from to meet dad's needs. For Father's Day this year, all grooming kits are 25% Off, including the Seki Edge Men's Gift Set. The Seki Edge Men's Gift Set is a great gifting item because it's presented in a classy gift box. A simple bow on top could give the final touches. If you want the items in a case, opt for the Men's Premium Grooming Kit MS-01. It has the same items but in a travel case. Whatever you get for dad, just remember quality is king. He deserves something nice and a beautiful, luxurious razor or grooming kit will put a smile on his face.   Product, Double Edge Razors, Gift Guides
How to get Rid of Calluses and Corns: Treatment and Prevention

How to get Rid of Calluses and Corns: Treatment and Prevention

Have you ever had a corn or callus? If you have, you would know that these are not specimens of beauty. They are ugly, hard and sometimes painful. However, corns and calluses are very common conditions. Usually known as thickened skin on the foot, corns are usually found on the tops of toes and calluses are found on the bottom of feet. They can also be found on the fingers due to excessive writing with a pen or playing instruments such as the guitar. Corns and calluses develop because of friction and pressure against the skin which can result in pain. If skin is rubbed too frequently, this will cause blisters instead of calluses to form. When rubbed on a frequent basis, this is where corns and calluses are formed. Corns and calluses are most frequently found on the feet. When one walks frequently, this can be a culprit for calluses. Walking isn't something we can really avoid so it's not uncommon to build calluses on the bottom of the feet. At some point the calluses can become so thick it becomes painful. So how do you get rid of calluses and corns on the feet? The first line of defense is to have good supporting shoes that are wide at the toes with a low heel. By having wide toed shoes, the feet are not squished and by having a low heel, there is less pressure on the balls of feet. Using over-the-counter pads, lotions, pumice stones, callus removers, foot baths and scrub brushes may help with reducing the thickened skin. Depending on how severe the callus or corn is, more aggressive action may need to be taken by a professional. Diabetics are especially prone to calluses because of the changes in skin tissue and lack of sensation caused by nerve damage. To get rid of very thick calluses, use callus remover tools to shave or grind down the thickened skin. Don't worry, the skin is so thick you won't even feel the tool. But as you shave off more and more skin and get closer to fresh skin, this is when you know it may be time to stop. Depending on how thick the callus is, you may need to grind down quite a bit. To minimize the amount of grinding you have to do, be sure to shave down your calluses before they become too thick. To get rid of corns, there are medicated pads available that help soften hardened corns so they can more easily be removed. Since corns are small it may be difficult to use any kind of pumice stone or file to remove them, especially if they are in a hard-to-reach place. So a treated pad often medicated with salicylic acid can be quite effective at removing small spots of hardened skin. But the best news comes in the form of prevention because like anything, prevention is easier and less costly to carry out than treatment. By getting properly fitted footwear, wearing protective pads and frequently using a callus reducer, you can keep calluses and corns down to a minimum. Using these preventative measures will slow down the growth of the calluses and it will take longer for them to form. Other ways to prevent calluses and corns are to use gloves when doing manual labor, soak your hands or feet in warm water and exfoliate a few times a week, and/or condition the affected skin with a rich moisturizing lotion or oil. There are numerous ways to prevent these unsightly skin conditions. It's just a matter of taking these actions on a regular basis. The good news is that you have many options and they are treatable.   Product, Callus Tools
What to get for a Mom that has Everything

What to get for a Mom that has Everything

Every year your mom has a birthday...and another special day dedicated to her, Mother's Day. At some point you feel like mom has EVERYTHING. So what do you get a mom with everything? If you're looking to get something for your mom forget about the typical gifts like jewelry and clothes. How about something different and unexpected but still useful? Women, including moms, like to feel beautiful. Other than makeup, beauty tools can make a mom feel special like the queen she is. Going to the salon or manicurist can get expensive over time and sometimes a little TLC at home can go a long way. Let's take a look at some useful beauty tools every mom should have at home.   USEFUL BEAUTY TOOLS FOR MOM Tweezers That's right. A good tweezer is an essential beauty tool every mom needs. Mostly for plucking unwanted eyebrow hairs, it can also be used for tweezing other facial hair, removing splinters or just grabbing tiny objects. Tweezers are so useful they are essential. But it must be a GOOD tweezer otherwise it will just create frustration and aggravation. So choose a quality tweezer.   Nail Clippers While many women (including moms) get manicures and pedicures at a nail salon, there are many women who do not. Trimming nails at home is just as necessary for women as it is for men. Nail clippers can also be useful for trimming hangnails. Leaving hangnails untreated can lead to unnecessary tearing of the skin and bleeding and no one wants that. Opt for a good quality nail clipper that leaves clean, sharp cuts. Because the last thing mom needs are jagged, ripped nails.   Nail Files Along with the nail clipper, a nail file is necessary. To smooth out any sharp edges, a nail file can do the finishing work. A nice metal nail file vs. a disposable nail file can leave smoother nail edges and last a long time. A nail file that glides along the curves of the nail will make it easy to get the perfect shape.   Eyelash Curlers One thing women like to achieve are bigger eyes. The eyes are one the most important features of the face and making them stand out is highly desirable. This can be achieved by eyelash extensions, fake eyelashes or simply using an eyelash curler and mascara. There are moms who get eyelash extensions and wear fake eyelashes, but most mom's do not. So using an eyelash curler at home can open up the eyes and prepare the eyelashes for mascara. There are many curlers out there, but it should give a nice curl to the eyelashes. It's also helpful if it's compact and easy to store.   Lash Pin Combs Lastly, after mascara is applied to curled lashes, a lash pin comb is useful for removing mascara clumps and separate lashes to make them look more natural and beautiful. While you could use a single pin to separate the lashes, it would be more dangerous and not as effective. A lash pin comb can make achieving clump-free lashes a breeze. There are many other essential at-home beauty tools all mom's should have at home but these are some of the most important ones. With all these necessary beauty tools, you might wonder where to get them. A simple gift set is the answer. The Seki Edge Women's Gift Set has all of these tools in a beautiful gift box. All you have to do is wrap it. If you don't know much about the brand, in a nutshell Seki Edge combines centuries-old Japanese craftsmanship with modern technology to create the world's finest stainless steel beauty and grooming tools. The Beauty of the JATAI Teasing Pin Comb PRO

The Beauty of the JATAI Teasing Pin Comb PRO

With all the combs available, there isn't one quite like the JATAI Teasing Pin Comb PRO. At first glance you will notice it's unique pin structure and quality build. But when you dig deeper into understanding the comb's benefits it will take your appreciation to another level.   So what's so great about this comb? It is useful in many ways...   TEASING COMB USES Teasing and backcombing This is the most obvious one since 'Teasing' is in its name. First and foremost, teasing is what it's made for. Giving that high volume, big hair is an easy feat for this tool. Whether it's for a fun night on the town, a wedding, prom, a special event or even just everyday volume, this comb can make your hair look bigger. Backcombing is the same as teasing and the terms are used interchangeably. However, teasing is a more popular term these days.   Detangling After hair washing, hair is likely tangled. To break the hair apart so it dries straight many people use a comb. But some combs have teeth that are very close together preventing the comb from going through the hair with ease. In the end, hair is tugged on and more likely to be pulled out due to an unforgiving comb. With the extra gaps and space between the pins, this allows the comb to easily detangle hair in a gentle manner.   Balayage and Color Melting The popularity of balayage and color melting has led to stylists seeking a great comb to do the job. To get that perfect balayage a comb needs to be used to separate out the hair that is to be lightened vs. the hair that doesn't. The JATAI Teasing Pin Comb evenly separates hair across the section in an easy non-resistant way. And it can help to spread the color or lightener across the hair.   But we can't stop here. It also has unique features... UNIQUE FEATURES   Unique Weaving Pin Structure The pins are what make this comb stand out from the rest. The pins almost look like large bobby pins. It is the weaving pin structure that allows easier volume creation and gentle detangling.   100% Japanese Stainless Steel Pins Japanese stainless steel is some of the best steel around. The hardness and superior quality prevent the pins from easily bending out of shape or moving out of place. So you can get a rough with it and it won't fall apart.   Epoxy Tips The rounded tips help prevent hair breakage. They run smoothly over the hair and glide between the strands. Staying gentle to the hair keeps hair on the head.   Thermal Resistant Use it with blow dryers, curling irons, flat irons and any other heated tool. The comb can withstand the heat! One influencer even used a flat iron in conjunction with the comb to create tight curls. You can watch it at the end of this video.   ABS Resin This is a strong plastic that makes this comb long-lasting and durable.   Anti-Static Who likes static? Static can easily get in the hair and create electric shock. The metal pins neutralize the electrical charge so you won't get zapped or have floating hair.   Rattail End Perfect for sectioning hair or creating a strong part. It's an all-in-one comb so you don't have to put the comb down to pick up a different one to do the sectioning work.   If you want to see this comb in action, watch Anthony Pazos use the JATAI Teasing Comb to create massive volume for various hairstyles.   Product, Brushes and Combs
We Made the Top 100 Popular Products on Wirecutter

We Made the Top 100 Popular Products on Wirecutter

We had an amazing achievement and are proud to announce two of our products have been picked as Wirecutter.com's top 100 popular products for February 2022. Why is this such a big deal? For one, Wirecutter was acquired by the New York Times in 2016 so it is a major online publication. It provides guides to consumer products in many different categories. From tech to home & garden to gifts and more, you can find a vast amount of reviews on everyday products so you as the consumer can make informed purchase decisions. They also have many articles about tips and tricks, how-to's, industry news and daily deals. It's easy to say that if you're looking to make a purchase, Wirecutter probably has an article about it. For us, we had no idea Wirecutter was going to write an article about nail clippers. And we certainly had no idea they would choose our products as the #1 and #2 picks for nail clippers. We are humbled by this result. But we also know that getting top picks in in this category is likely not by chance. Green Bell, the manufacturer of both Green Bell and Seki Edge products, has been manufacturing top notch nail clippers for decades. Honing in on a craft and art that not many were doing allowed their nail clippers to stand out and dominate the category. Both nail clippers are excellent. They are sharp, make clean cuts, have a bit of weight to them and last for many years. They are easy to hold and they look really nice. In the initial Wirecutter article that showcased their top picks for nail clippers, the authors mentioned they interviewed a podiatrist and tested 10 different nail clippers over the last 5 years. Plus, they consulted with a nail tech with a decade of experience to help them analyze these products. It's easy to say that they didn't take this review lightly and they put in careful thought and time into making their ranking. We are not surprised they chose the Green Bell G-1008 nail clipper as their top pick. Having handled this nail clipper ourselves, the feel of the clipper is fantastic. You can only really know why it's so fantastic until after you've used it. The simple ease of use, the sharpness of the blades and the control are amazing. We only sell this nail clipper on Amazon at the moment. However, we do sell a similar nail clipper in the Seki Edge line, the Seki Edge Stainless Steel Nail Clipper SS-112. The only different between the two is the back end of the body of the nail clippers. The G-1008 is more pointed and the SS-112 is more round. But the jaw and opening are the same. As far as their second pick, we were happy to see the Seki Edge Stainless Steel Nail Clipper SS-106 was named #2. Seeing it is our best-selling fingernail clipper, we know this clipper gives a great experience, leaves sharp cuts and works effortlessly. It is true that the SS-106 does not have a built-in nail file, which may or not be an issue for some people. But at the same time, it is slightly cheaper than the G-1008 so if you want something more budget friendly this is the way to go. Whatever the case, if you're currently in the market to make a nail clipper purchase, check out Wirecutter's article on the best nail clippers as well as the Top 100 Most Popular Picks for February 2022. We were so excited and thankful for it we had to write our own article about it. We look forward to seeing what you think about them. If you have any questions or already have one of these nail clippers, leave us a comment to help others in their purchase decision.   Product, Nail Clippers
