In this men’s disconnected razor mullet fade haircut tutorial, Sergey creates a stylish, modern mullet with shorter hair on the sides and a longer top, back and bottom.
He starts with the side and back zone of the head. Using a clipper, he does a bit of clipper over comb and then uses the clipper to do some fading on the right and left sides. You could get creative and do a skin fade or a different type of fade on the sides, but the gradual taper looks great for this shape. He uses a Feather LX Styling Razor on the sides with a little channel cutting, removing weight and creating texture on the sides and back. The Feather LX Styling Razor is a discontinued model. However, it uses the current Feather Styling Razor Blades.
He then addresses the top, front and top sides by removing some length from the longer hair and creating texture with the razor. He creates a fringe and does some deep channel cutting all around. Lastly, he does dry haircutting by using his scissors to remove more weight. For styling, he uses some product to give it some volume and hold.
This is a fairly traditional mullet hairstyle with features of a classic mullet haircut. While the client has straight hair, this could work with slightly curly hair or wavy hair. This style can work with most face shapes and hair types. It’s a modern short hairstyle that’s popular with younger generations.
There are many types of modern mullet hairstyles such as the mohawk mullet or burst mullet. These haircuts are all renditions of a mullet but maintain the general guidelines of what a mullet is. If you wanted to turn this into a burst fade mullet, you would just continue the taper fade around the ear. The mullet curly hair look works well as a burst fade. The fade mullet curly hair style is a popular style among younger men, same with this fade mullet haircut.
