To finish this textured cut I used my Feather Texturizing Styling Razor with a Texturizing Blade on Sidney’s dry hair. I do this when the hair is already dry because he has very straight hair with a strong cuticle that benefits from a little "calculated damage". This makes the hair look softer and flow better for easy self-styling. After creating the basic shape of the cut with shears, I took 1/2” horizontal sections starting at the curve of the head at the base of the crown. I then used the Feather Texturizing Blade in vertical strokes to create definition and texture while also removing weight. I skimmed the surface of the same section horizontally with the blade at a 45 degree angle to create the “calculated damage” which then allows very fine, slippery hair to function like it has more texture. Repeat until you reach the front of the cut, then customize how you see fit for your client!
