This mullet moment was razored completely with my Feather Plier Razor. My goal for this cut was to create a light, textured internal shape while maintaining a strong, structured external shape. Throughout the overall design of the cut, I used uniform on-base convex layering, chipping into the crown to give it a kick. I decided to approach texturizing with a technique where the blade is at an angle, and then you slide through as if you were turning a key. This delicately opens up the layers and lets the hair’s natural texture shine through. As for the fringe, I focused on the perimeter texture using a Feather Texturizing Styling Razor and Feather Styling Razor Standard Blades. I used a crosshatch pattern to soften it, then carving small triangular windows to really create our desired Winona Ryder in "Beetlejuice" inspo. This technique gives the client an easy pinch-to-style option that adds versatility and an edgy touch. With Feather tools from JATAI, I knew I could create the perfect combination of structured shape and soft natural movement in this haircut.
