About My Work:
After sporting an edgy, disconnected short hair style for months, Libby was ready for a
softer pixie style and a whole new shape. My goal was to create a modern, short shape that hugs her head while leaving enough length on top to allow her natural wave to give the pixie some added texture. I used the Feather Plier Razor to cut this pixie starting with detailing the fringe to set the focal point for the shape. I used triangular graduation to cut the sides and back starting at the nape. As I worked up the head, I cut short to long, cutting with an upwards stroke. For the top, I used the Feather Plier to cut a layer working short to long from the crown of the head to the length established by the fringe about two inches behind the front hairline. I continued the rounded layer on top taking parallel sections and pulling each section straight up from the head. I left a slight disconnection at the parietal ridge where I used my eye to detail and remove weight from the area where the sides and top meet.
